First Time Out

Blueflame's eyes filled with sarrow, even if they weren't really hers the pain felt real as ever. Dovekit has just realized that she was different...Blueflame took her paw and pushed Skiykit to her sister. Blueflame nodded her head when the kit looked at her in confusion the understood.

Skiykit skidded beside her sister as her mother nodded to her. Her fluffy white tail then landed softley on her sisters shoulders. And moved her head so her sister could feel her eye lashes on her ear. She flicked her eye, Trying to tell her shell be her eyes. Skykit started forward. Looking around seeing all the big cats move among them selves all knowing where they were doing and wha they were doing.

"Lets go to the warrior den!" Redkit yowled running over to what he thought was the warrior den, only it was the Medicine cat's. He ran in and was greeted with the hard smells of herbs. "This room SMELLS!" He yelled to the others.

Skykit flicked her ears adn pirked up when she seen Redkit dash for a den in the camp. She sniffed the air and the scent of plants filled her nose. Skykit squized her tail on Dovekits back as they mad ther way to Redkit bouncing up and down.

[Snowberry]

"Lookie!! Theres a funny looking plant!" He laughed picking it up. It tasted nasty. "Ew!" He meowed spiting it out not knowing the herb he just pick up was Yarrow. "That tasted ... Ew! I don't want to think about it!"

[Tanglestar]

Dovekit cought up to her wondering sister and lay her tail gently where they thought her ears out me, and nodded, hoping Skykit saw. She would also be her sisters ears.

Whisperwind hobbled out of her nest, blinking sleep from her eyes. She saw a little red dot spitting something from his mouth. She glanced away at the two others in the entrance, then with great realization, she turned and ran toward Tanglestar's kit. "Redkit!" She yowled, her voice echoing in the den and the entire camp. She saw Dovekit jump from the corner of her eye, and Skykit just sat there, making her remember her kits and how they both had terrable disabilities. But Whisperwind shook it out remembering Redkit. "Did you eat that?!" She shrieked, looking at the yarrow on the den floor scattered about. Gasping, she called tragically for Moongaze.

Redkit crouched down close to the ground in shame, why did he eat it? "I-I... I spat it out, I think all- of it." He meowed, his eyes welling up with tears. He closed them hoping Whisperwind wouldn't see them.

[Tanglestar]

A ray of sorrow shot through Whisperwind's mind, as she leaned down to the small red ball of fur and looked him in the eye. "I'm going to need to check you out, okay? What you ate was very dangerous and it may send you to StarClan." She gulped, feeling uncertain about everything.

What would Tanglestar think if I let her kit die!?

Her two kits were still at the entrance. Skykit was murmuring something to Dovekit, as Dovekit nodded solemnly in response. They're helping eachother out, She thought.

Opening her mouth again, she yowled for Moongaze. Whisperwind began to roll Redkit over and message his tummy with her paw ever so gently.

Redkit felt fear grip him. He was scared. He could die! Why did he have to go and be a fool? Redkit rolled over on his back while Whisperwiind rubed his tummy. "Can someone gey Mummy?" He asked feeling so scared he needed his mum, only Blueflame wasn't his mother.

[Tanglestar]

Whisperwind swallowed hard. "Dovekit," She called, still concentrating on Redkit, "Go get you're mother." She shot a quick glance to make sure they went. She knew only Dovekit could hear, but Skykit could see. She watched as they lead each other to the den, scurring along quickly.

Directing her attention back to the small red kit, she swallowed again and took a deep breath, nervousness arriving. "You're going to be just fine,"

She hoped she wasn't lying.

Redkit watched his sisters go. They weren't the same as him and Frostkit. "Why aren't Dovekit and Skykit like me and Frostkit?" He asked not knowing he was asking the real mother of the kits.

[Tanglestar]

Whisperwind swallowed hard as she waited for the little kit's return. "Well Redkit," She started. She knew Redkit was intelligent, it wasn't his fault about the yarrow, he didn't know what it was. "Dovekit can not see, and Skykit can not hear." She told him, knowing it was right/

Moongaze pricked her ears as she made her way threw the camp entrence, "Whats going on?" The words muffled as she held the cat-mint in her mouth. The scent made her breath in deep as the soothing aroma filled her nose, Moongaze trotted to the medicine cat den, "Whats going on?" Whisperwind had Redkit on his back rubbing his stomach, Moongaze looked around the den and spotted the coughted up yarrow.

[Tanglestar]

"Redkit spotted yarrow and decided to snack on it." Whisperwind said, concentrating on Redkits stomach. Turning her attention to Moongaze, she whispered, "What should I do?" she felt her eyes water, she was a failure. She hadn't had a case of cat-eating-yarrow in her life. But she still should know what to do. She was a medicine cat.

Redkit looked at Whisperwind as she told him about Dovekit & Skykit. That would explain it.... He thought, Dovekit can't see... Skykit can't hear... Wait, how were they going to become a warrior like him? They couldn't, could they? Before he could ask Moongaze came in, talking to Whisperwind. He saw Whisperwind eyes fill alittle with tears. "Whisperwind don't worry, I'm gonna be fine, it was only a little bit, I might have spat it all out." He meowed smiling at the she-cat, though his belly was feeling a little sore.

[Tanglestar]

"But Redkit, you still have it on your tongue. And that means you swallowed it. It's in your system. This can be very serious okay?" she swallowed hard, keeping cool. she knew Redkit was curious as to how his 'sisters' were going to be warriors like him someday. Whisperwind wasn't sure how either. Turning to Moongaze, she asked, "What do I do next?"
