OCC:: I had a thought about this and I thought it could stir up some commotion in the plot and whatnot. Play along if you wish =)
What can I do when you're gone?
When it feels so wrong?
What can I say
To make you wanna stay?
So what can I do
Don't leave me this way-
Cause it feels so wrong
Let's stop all these games
Cause I just can't say goodbye
When it feels so wrong?
What can I say
To make you wanna stay?
So what can I do
Don't leave me this way-
Cause it feels so wrong
Let's stop all these games
Cause I just can't say goodbye
The moon was high.
Whisperwind was curled around her little bundles of fun beneath her, feeling each individual heart beat on her. It was a chilly new-leaf night.
The medicine cat apprentice lay, half asleep, covering the shaking kits under under her while her can was at battle.
A twig snapped.
Without alerting the kits, her head shot up; heart beat skyrocketing. Her ears angled and strained for more sounds.
Very quietly, Whisperwind pushed up on her quaking legs, which rattled like a lead about to fall off a tree on a windy summers night. She put one silent paw in front of the other as she gained more ground toward the entrance to the nursery. No other sound had alarmed her since the snapping of the twig. It could just be a mouth... She swallowed the lump in her throat down hard, but it just arose again.
But nothing would prepare her for what her eyes saw next.
Across the camp stood three well grown bright red foxes. Whisperwind's lungs gasped for breath. However, afraid to breathe, she stood still, thanking StarClan that she was downwind. Blood rushing through her ears, she silently creeped back to the kits and loomed over them. What am I going to do? She was in a state of panic.
Dawnstar had ordered every Warrior and apprentice to the battle, leaving only Whisperwind at the camp alone with five kits to take care of. And any second now, the foxes would cats her scent and be in the nursery, feasting on their prizes...
Whisperwind had to think fast. She could hear the foxes scrambling around. They must have scented a cat's presence now. She looked back and fourth. Will I have to fight? Will I die? she asked herself.
Quickly, she lined up the sleeping kits and shoved each scruff in her small mouth, and peeked outside again. Her heart jumped up when she saw one no more then a tail length away sniffing around. She bent down, and released the kits, praying they wouldn't make a noise. The foxes were gathering around her side of the camp now, jaws dripping with saliva. Just then, some kits started to stir.
Please! Don't make noise...
Don't, don't let me go
It's not the end, whoa-
Girl you know it's not so bad
It's not the end, whoa-
No it's not the end
It's not the end, whoa-
Girl you know it's not so bad
It's not the end, whoa-
No it's not the end
